Exploring

 Good afternoon Everybody!

Well this weekend was nice a little sad because Father’s day you know, but surrounded by family and friends.

On Saturday Hubby and I were supposed to go to my friend’s house but the weather was really bad, like a Tornado watch so we decided to stay home and watched a movie. I decided to start a crochet project that I had on mind for a while, I’ve forgotten how quick crochet could be! I started the project in the evening while watching a movie with my hubby, and before going to bed it was almost done!
So I made a bottle (of wine)Cozy! And I love it! I made up the pattern as I was going and as usual when you this is always fun. My friend saw and asked me if I could make one for her, so I’ll have implement the pattern again.

Now I’m making a water bottle holder, just because when I come to work in the morning I bring my purse, my computer and my water and it’s always kind of uncomfortable to carry, so I think that if I can use something to hang it will work.

Out of topic when I listen to Indie/Indie Folk music it makes me think of Iceland (which I’ve never been there) and it makes me want to knit think of sheeps and hobbit houses! I know right? You are allow to laugh with me!
I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll keep dreaming because is free!
Hugs to you

of cakes and knitting

Good afternoon! I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Today I want to share with a potpourri of topics. First I wanted to share a picture of a fruit tart that my mother made yesterday, (remember that my mom lives in Argentina and I only get to see her once a year, I love her with all my heart, bones, spirit anything and everything for her! Lol) well she said that she dedicated this tart to me!
You see my mom’s dream was always to have a pastry shop, is never too late right? I think it looks beautiful and I posted the pics on Facebook and she was the happiest when my friends and family left comments about her cake! She is too cute!

Well knitting wise I’m making several items at the same time, who can have just one knitting project right? I’m making an asymmetrical scarf, a pillow, a hat and a mini sweater! And I was thinking about starting a little cardigan for my niece.
I’m using a yarn for the scarf that I found at store called Tuesday morning and it’s merino wool, it’s super soft and the quality is wonderful for the price. I think I’ll have to go for more colors! I love it!

Well  I have a lot of work to do (like real work) so I ‘ll have to go now.

Many hugs to you and I wish we could have slice of my mom’s cake together with some Earl Grey tea

Discovering colors

Good morning! I hope you are having a wonderful day.
This morning I woke up thinking about photography and how much I used to enjoy it. I never took classes but I just like to capture those special moments or those things when it feels like you are the only one looking at them.
This morning I took some pics of one of my projects, I noticed how similar the color was to the flowers on my deck and I felt in love!
It's funny how sometimes we don't think about nature, yarn and color combinations. Have you ever experienced spending hours trying to look for the right color combination for your new pattern? I have! and then all the sudden there is just in front of you the perfect color combination... coming from mother nature! I think that from now on I'll be very careful when choosing my colors.
The project that you see here with my flowers is something that I started last night experimenting with a new stitch. We'll see how it comes out.

And one more picture of a flower that I took and I was able to capture all the details and I love it!
See later and hugs for you!

Lucky Saturday

Happy Saturday everybody!
Well I had so much to do, so many things have happened in this past year, happy and sad moments.
I'm just recollecting myself and trying to rebuild what I had with you all. I hope you still remember me!
About a month ago I received about 3 emails on my Ravelry, from users asking me for a pattern that I used to sell on my Esty shop for dolls. Since that moment I started thinking about my blog again, about how much I enjoyed writing about knitting and crafts and sharing pictures with you all.
I tried to access the blog several times but I had a really hard time with the password! Today I was finally able to access it and here I am.
I have two important things to to share with you guys one sad and one happy and even though is related to my family and my personal life I feel like sharing, OK, the sad one is that my dear father past away last July, it was really hard times for my family and for me, if you know a little about me you know how I felt about my dad. Then I have happy news, On May of 2014 my first niece Isabella was born! and she just filled the whole family with love and joy and made our hearts a little lighter, because when she smiles she just brights the room. The good news is that my dad got to meet her and hold her! He was delighted to be a grandpa!

Knitting

Knitting has always been here. It's my therapy. I have made several items that I'll share with you until I catch up. As you can imagine I knit for my niece a  lot I have a wonderful excuse to make tiny and cute projects know!

Here are some of them

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I hope that you came visit me!
Many hugs

I don’t know if you have notice but I renew the look of the blog a little, and since blogger has added new features I was able to add more pages and one of them is my SHOP!
Yes! I wanted to do that for a very long time and finally I could accomplish it!
My creating mood is on again, it finally came back! So, I have the felling that this long weekend is going to be very productive. I want to make new things; I have ideas many ideas… You’ll see!
Come visit my shop

Knitting

Ohhhh I also wanted to tell you that I have finished my Sylvi Coat! Oh my…. I am in love with it coat! I wasn’t able to take decent pictures yet, but I show you what I have so you can see it!
I love it!!!! yes it was a lot of work, but the results are incredible. The pattern is really easy to follow and to be honest I didn't have any problems. The yarn worked perfect for this coat, after blocking it;s a lot softer and I like the stitch definition too.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, enjoy as much as you can!
Many hugs for you!

Shenandoah Fiber Festival, VA 2012

Sweet alpaca giving me a kiss!
Good Morning everybody! How are you today? How is your day going?
I am doing well, thank you!
For the last 3 years I wanted to go to the Shenandoah Fiber Festival in VA and for some reason I always missed the date! This year I was lucky because I checked just in time before the weekend date. I told my husband that I really wanted to go and if he wanted to come with me and... he said yes! (Usually is a girly thing, you know).
So, last Saturday we went to the festival! We got there around noon, and it was a lot of local vendors selling really nice stuff. We walk around and I thought how dangerous this place could be if you are addicted to yarn. I also thought that it's probably one of the best places to buy yarn, because is good quality and is not really expensive. We got to see the animals and pet them.We really enjoyed it

I also wanted to tell you that I felt in love with one of the alpacas, she was the sweetest alpaca ever, she gave me a nose kiss!!! hihihihi too cute!
You should have seen this, there was a lady that had angora bunnies! Oh my they are so so soft! and she was spinning directly from the angora bunny!
Angora Bunny, I want one so bad!

Spinning from the bunny!

It was truly a wonderful day, the ride was breath taking, the weather was perfect ( cold enough for me to use my Mythos cardigan, and 4 people stopped me to ask me about my cardigan! I felt proud of my knitting, yes you can call it vanity!), and I had the perfect company!
I also wanted to tell you that my dear hubby was a saint, he put up with walking and looking at yarn for like 3 hours! , and after buying the sweet popcorn, he said "So? have you decided on what yarn do like the most?" I said well is so hard to pick, but why do you ask? because I want you to get some good yarn so you can make something nice for you! I just looked at him and smiled and he smiled back. (he knows how much I love alpaca yarn). You see,  I went with a set of mind "not to buy yarn, because we are a little broke", but there he was... trying to make me happier than I already was! So, I said yes I'm between two, but you have to help me to decide on the color (he is really good with colors, he is a Graphic's designer). So "we picked" a 1000 yards of sport Alpaca yarn on a beautiful light blue that he said it will look good on me!
I was and I am so happy! You see, I'm not just happy because I have this beautiful yarn, but also because the person that I love the most helped me to picked the yarn color  and spend the whole afternoon doing something that I wanted to do (he not so much) just to see me happy! That's why I spend the last 11 years of my life with him, for the simple things of daily life that we do to make each other happier. At the end it's all about that, caring for each other.
So, that was part of m y weekend full of happiness and love!

Have a great day, don't forget to smile and give somebody a hug!

Hugs to you,
Sabrina
