New day, New creations

Today is a good day, I feel a lot better, and everything is a lot clear. It funny how sometimes 24 hours can change things or feelings. A person might find a solution in that amount of time. Well today is Wednesday a day before Thanksgiving I haven't bought the Turkey yet, what a mess! This is going to be the first year that I will be making the turkey by myself! Will see how it comes out! Any tips for beginners will be highly appreciated. Wish me luck! It's going to be fun!
Knitting:
You see today I am going to share with you two more creations that I finished and I never posted, remember that I told you that I took pics last Sunday? Well this are some of those pics.
I made this wonderful cowl or neck warmer, if you could just touch the yarn! You have not idea how soft and thick this yarn is. It's soooo soft! Like a cloud (or Nube in Spanish)! That's why I call it

I really do like the color, so rich for this fall, and the buttons are from a little shop in Argentina that only sells buttons, and these ones are tree buttons, it's like the wood has been cut straight from the tree and painted.

I also made a hat, kind of like a slouchy hat with a small pattern.The yarn is wool and is really soft.
I really like how the purples blend and form a nice color all together.I called this one

So, very happy with these two projects, I really like them. I hope you like them too.
For now I have to go to lunch, and I need to go buy the turkey breast!

I need to talk

It's almost 10:00pm and I really feel like posting. Why because my heart is feeling achy, because I was knitting and some tears were dropping on my knitting, because is so much going on in my life right now that is over whelming, and because one more time words are coming out of my pores and I need to write. Is this what a writer feels?
Well tonight my heart is saying write Sabrina write as fast as you can, and that's what I am doing.
I was knitting my sweater, god knows that this sweater is feeling, me, my hands, my heart, my fears, and my passions. Tonight I can say that knitting is my therapy, tonight I can say that sometimes it keeps me sane.
This sweater is my own interpretation of what Jane Austin would knit, (at least that was my idea). The problem is that now it turned out to be that plus my own interpretation of including knitting in difficult times.
Even though sometimes I am thinking a million things at the same time and my mood is not the best all my stitches are more even than ever! My knitting tension is perfect!
I called this cardigan : Hay amor, amor cardigan.

This particular stitch has a lot of meaning to me, call me crazy if you want I don't care.

This is how is coming out so far, I like it. The yarn it's just the regular Lion Brand acrylic yarn (I got it on sale $.021 a skein) because god knows that I like good yarn, but at this moment I am broke, so I use whatever I have and I can afford; It knits well is warm and is usable.
Ladies, tonight I needed a escape and so I came here. It's that the right thing to do? I don't know, but I feel better.

Lot of work today

I have been working a lot today, uploading all my finished projects to my Etsy shop. Finally the day was nice enough to let me take pics, well I have to say that I was on the mood for it as well, which made everything a lot easier.
I have a lot to show you, many new projects and some of them very interesting ones.
I decided that I'm not going to upload all the pics for my new project, but instead some of them and then you can go see the rest here. What I do want to show you is this cool project which is called

"The Magic Scarf"

You can use it as a scarf, very warm, soft and light, or maybe if it gets chilli you can just use it as a sweater!

How cool is that?

What a wonderful book full of wonderful patterns!
I would love to buy this book, but it will have to go to my wishing list, since I am broke right now.
But I have to say that I've enter a contest at Knitted bliss to win this book and maybe, who knows, I get lucky!

For my readers

Life has been really tough on my family and me these past months.

I had to go to Argentina as an emergency trip at the end of September, because my dear father was and is very ill. All I have to say is that since September life has been really sad. We went trough a loT, I felt the necessity to tell my readers why of me disappearing all the sudden. Well this is my reason.

I got back from Argentina just like a week ago, my father is stable but his health is very delicate. I don’t know when I would have to go back, but I wish I was there helping him and my mother. She is really taking care of him 24/7. It’s a lot of work! You have not idea. I prefer to keep the details for myself.

My heart is broken in a million pieces, my dad and I are really close and just the idea of loosing him makes me deeply sad.

I do want you “my readers” to know, that I miss writing and I miss making projects and showing them to you, but my mind it’s to busy right now, trying to live at two places at the same time.

Last Friday, after taking to my mother my mother for a while she said “ why don’t you knit something for you, to keep your mind busy in something else?” I said, “ How could I? She said, “ Hija (daughter) is good for you. You should start something, it doesn’t mean that you are going to stop thinking about what’s going on here, it will just mean that your mind will rest for a little while”.

So, because mom is “always right”, I did start knitting something, all for me this time. It’s a raglan cardigan top down, and my mom was right, it did take my mind away from the problems for a while. It’s coming out really good so far. I like it. I guess it will be another garment with a deep meaning. I always knit something meaningful, so I can remember and in the future will always have a story to tell in every single one of my stitches.

To close this post, I would like to say that we should enjoy every member of our family as much as we can, when we can. Mom and Dad are the ones who always love us, no matter what. We should never forget that.

Creativity

Creativity is what I have these days, but the problem is that it comes and goes. Sometimes I get images of hat designs on my mind right before falling sleep, and when I open my eyes thinking about them with a big smile on my face the whole thing disappears! Did this ever happen to you? My husband recommended me to have a little notebook handy on my nightstand in case something pops up, I took his input under consideration and then I put it on practice, so now I have a notebook and a sharp pen on my nightstand and three new designs!

These past two weeks have been really busy on my knitting life. I've been knitting lots of hats with the help of my mother in law, (my little helper) for this shop in Richmond. I think I might have to deliver them this Sunday, not sure yet.
I knitted new models of slouchy hats; I specially love two of them! I have to say that new patterns keep me entertain and since it's been rainy for a couple of days, it's easier to be inside and just knit.
I haven't buy any new yarn so far, but instead I REMIX my stash for new ideas, and it worked put perfectly; new combinations, new textures, new designs. It feels like I have all kinds of new yarn!
I will try to take some pictures if tomorrow gets nicer, so you can see my hats before I have to take them to the shop.

Long time not see

Wauu Summer is almost over and my reappearance comes with it. I do have a lot to say though!
On July my husband and I went to Argentina, Buenos Aires to visit the family for three weeks! It was great, not only because I got to see everybody, but also because I got to spend my Birthday with them! It was so special and nice. Also remember that in July is winter time down there so I got to use all my new knitting.
I as you know by know, summer and knitting fight for me all the time, I cannot concentrate on my knitting, but I have to admit that this past month to date I cannot concentrate in anything, I cannot find motivation, maybe because the big change of seasons is coming, I don't know.
I want to share that I started to exercise and watching what I eat and I lost 2 pounds in three weeks! I am very proud of myself. It's important to remark that it being in shape requires a lot of discipline. So we'll see what would happened, my goal is to lose a little more and then keep it out of me.
For now, I just wanted to share with you, my reader, that I am fine, and that I am very sorry for being away for so long.

I love Alpacas!

His name is frank Sinatra, he has blue eyes!

On Saturday my husband and I went to visit a very old friend of his to the mountains in Virginia. The trip there was just so beautiful, the views were amazing, and more importantly we had a great time!
In the way back home we saw a sign that said " Open alpaca farm", since it was already 8:00pm we thought it was not really appropriate to stop, but despite that we did stopped to ask what time they were opening on Sunday. The owner was so nice and he saw that I was so enthusiastic about it that he offered us a tour right away. So we got to see all the wonderful farm and all the alpacas he had!
I was so thrilled, I absolutely love Alpacas, they are such interesting animals! He owned like about 63 Alpacas total and they were all so very cute and funny looking! There was also a baby that was 3 weeks old! He was absolutely gorgeous! And the Mr. was so very nice that he got it for me to hold him. I can not explain to you how soft and fluffy he was! I wanted to bring him home with us! hahahaha
In case you live close and you would like to visit the name of the farm is "Clover Meadows Farm" and it's located on Gainsville, VA.
I think that when I grow older I would love to have an Alpaca Farm!

Education time

Great book!

I read a lot, I always have something to read and I always find the time for it. I know that good knitting books are hard to find, so I fallowed the advice of all the knitters I admired and I decided to go ahead and picked "the must read book" which is suppose to be a good, old fashion and complete. Based on that yesterday I started reading -Knitting without tears by Elizabeth Zimmermann- and boy that this book has a lot of helpful tips! I wonder why all the big knitters love this book! Wonder no more!
I love the way that she explains things, because she mixes the techniques with her personal life, normal knitting problems and questions that you might have sometimes while knitting. So far I really like it.
I wouldn't recommend this book for a beginner though, because it doesn't have a lot of pictures, it's more like "a knitter talking to another knitter and sharing the big secrets of knitting. If you are an intermediate or experience knitter everything she says on the book is going to make sense to you.
It's always good to keep educating yourself a little more on the topics you like the most, it's never too late to learn new things! Learning is like a super food for your brain, it makes it faster and happier!

My Kniting Adventure

I’m going through a knitting adventure process, yes that’s right. That’s how I can put it.

Don’t you need knitting adventures too? Don’t you like the emotion of knitting something completely new? It’s like your brain asks for it, isn’t it?

First of all, I want to say that I’ve been saving on my favorites from Ravelry all these amazing patterns for a long time, always thinking that some day I’ll get to make them. What was really happening, was that I was lying to myself, why? Well, because whenever the time to start a new project came I was choosing easy ones. I had a long talk with myself and I decided that needed to end. (I’m not crazy. I’m sure you talk to yourself too sometimes, don’t you?)

For those reasons two days ago I started a new project that I wanted to make for a long time. The pattern is called “Shawl Collar vest” by Jennifer Miller and it’s lovely and it’s FREE!

This is my new adventure, and I say this because I’ve never knitted a circular vest yet.

Even though the pattern looked easy and short I was scared! The fact that you need to start the pattern back and forth and the change it to knitting in a round was strange to me. I couldn’t figure it out right away, so on Sunday and I wrote to Jennifer and asked the questions I had about the pattern, she replied right away, which it was really helpful. Thank you Jennifer! After that little stumble my brain started to process the information properly and truly and now is surprisingly going great.

Secondly, since my budget is limited, I try not to expend a lot of money on yarn (it’s really hard!), so right next to my work there is Hancock Fabric store and sometimes I find sells, like the other day! I found Amazing from Lion Brand at a bargain price so I bought like 4 skins of it. This is the yarn that I’m using for this project; I love the color, the texture and the ease of the yarn.

Finally, keep in mind that knitting adventures are great time to time, getting out of our comfort zones helps us develop new techniques. I’m trilled about this project so we will have to wait and see for the results.

Inspired by American Robin

This past weekend I was so inspired by a story that I so on one of the blogs I usually read. This lady has a American Robin bird 's nest somewhere on her house. The thing is that she was able to fallow the whole story of the birds, from being on the little eggs to birth!, So cute!!!! For some reason it really got to me, and I felt completely inspired to make this set of necklace and earrings and I called it The Robins Hope. I love how the little nest it's holding a little turquoise egg full of hope and happiness.

My Owls Sweater II finished!!!!!

My owls have eyes!

I finally finished my Owls sweater II; I’m so please with the results. It came out beautifully; it fits me like a glove. Despite of the fact that the hard work of re-knitting was so painful, slow and tiring (I felt like I was knitting for two years the same sweater, tired of looking at the same color) I have to say that the final gratification was wonderful! When I tried it on and it fitted the way I wanted I could instantly feel a big, fat smile appearing on my face! Yes I was happy, and I still am.

I blocked the sweater on Saturday and yesterday afternoon I sewed on the tiny buttons representing the Owls eyes.

My husband said: It looks very nice baby, very professional! “Why are you going to add buttons on it? It’s going to look cheese! I looked at him and I said: “ I don’t care if it looks cheese, I knitted this sweater all the way thinking about my Owls having eyes, and I am going to sew the buttons on them and they are going to be owls with eyes, and besides in the pattern they have eyes too! “Ohhh” he said.

OK then ….and then we looked at each other ( I think he saw my face of excitement because I was about to finish working on this sweater for ever, maybe I looked crazy but we couldn’t resist and We just burst into laughing!!! You crazy he said, I said you crazy and he gave me a big long hug!

Jewelry Creations

Hi friends, how was your weekend? Did you have fun? Did you relax? I had a great weekend, fun, fun weekend. I got to hung out with my hubby and best friends and party on Saturday, it was lots of Sangria involved so "it was fun" upps to much Sangria maybe, hehehehe!
Well and then on Sunday I got the whole afternoon for myself, since my husband had to work for while. I got to do everything I had pending. I knitted while watching my favorite movie "Like Water for Chocolate", I got to finish my sweater, I sewed all the buttons, I made some jewelry, I did laundry, I upload all the photos online, and I started two more projects! One hat for my husband and a Collar Shawl for me!
For now I am going to show you the jewelry and then I will show you my sweater in that way will be much more organized.

Knitting and Summer time

Knitting and hot weather don’t match! It’s been difficult for me to concentrate on knitting when outside it’s about 101 degrees being the real feel 109!

Of course, Summer time it’s always difficult for me to focus on knitting, I love to be out on the water, swimming and socializing. Yesterday I meant to work on my Owls sweater, but we were invited to a pool party for lunch, so honestly the thoughts of temptation about the first splash of the season and being out with my hubby and friends was stronger than the knitting, and I gave up the knitting moment that I had forcedly created, put everything away and went to get ready for the pool! It was so much fun!

We had such a good time with dear friends, good food, and drinks and a pool! It was a really a beautiful day to be at the pool hanging out with my dearest people!!

After spending almost all the afternoon at my friend’s pool party, when we got home we were so tired that without wanting, we both passed out on the couch, ending in an unexpected long nap (it felt so good though)!

Finally after dinner I sat down on my couch, and while chilling with my hubby I manage to finish the second sleeve for my sweater, Yay! After all mission accomplished!

It was a great weekend, full of happy moments and romance!

Love summer time, it makes me feel happy!

This morning I thought: Well, this evening I’ll put all my sweater all together, and I’ll start knitting a couple of rows…(that’s what I thought) My husband called me and said that this afternoon we have to go to my best friends house because it’s his son’s birthday, (we were there yesterday celebrating, they are the ones with the pool!)… Oh my…having fun outdoors wins again! We are going to a pool party again tonight!!!! We will be having a great time again, with a barbeque and swimming at night! The temperature today is 97, with a real feel of 105!

Question: DO you think that after leaving my house around 7:00pm and having a great time at the party when I come back home around 10:00pm I will feel like knitting? I don’t even know!

You guys enjoy the outdoors, life is beautiful and as much as I love to knit I also love to move around and have fun activities and visit friends and spend time with my hubby, so sometimes knitting has to wait, especially on Summer time!

Wrong Star Stich, my new Pattern!

This is what I have worked on for a while, I hope you like it! It was my secret project, I'm not use to write the patterns, so that's why sometimes it takes me a while to publish one.
I love this stitch pattern, it's so much fun! I made it one day playing with yarn, I would like to say that I invented it, but I am not sure of that yet. They are so many stitches out there.

Stitch markers

I love these ones!

Why are cute stitch markers so expensive? I went to see what they have on Etsy and I was like Hell noooo! They are so expensive! I know they are handmade and it takes time and creativity, but I think it’s a little too much.

Well, the thing about the Stitch markers (SM) and me is that I loose them all the time, (exactly the same happens with my hair pins.). They appeared on my couch, between the pillows, in my office, on my bags, sometimes on my purse. They go everywhere. So imagine this, if I expend $$ en SM and then I loose them, it’s no going to be fun! I have some SM that were made for me, I think I had a total of like 10 and now I have like 3! Where did they go?

I know that there are some professional knitters that don’t even need to use them, but I will be lost without them. Specially if I am working on a sweater or a complicated pattern!

Now what I am using now are the plastic basic ones, they are OK, but they are not fun. So, I was thinking that sometime this weekend I should start making a couple of sets for myself to use on my knitting. I have all the tools and beads to do it, so why not? And besides I now what NOT to do when making them. I noticed that there are some people who are not knitters and they make SM for sale and they way they make them basically sucks, because they get tangle on the yarn, they pull the stitches, or maybe they are way to long. It’s not just about making a stitch markers, it’s about knowing what a knitter wants and what’s good for your yarn.

The question is do you use Stitch markers? Do you care what do they look like?

Update: I started the Owls sweater again! No, I am not crazy, I believe in perseverance! So, I almost finish the body!

Today I bought some Amazing yarn from Lion Brand, the color is amazing! I want to make the Saroyan shawl by Liz Abinante. It looks so beautiful!

My Cloud Bolero II

A while ago, I made a Cloud Bolero from one of the Ysolda's patterns. It was gray.
Today I wanted to tell you that I love this pattern so much that I had to make me another one, and so I did. I finished this little bolero last December. It's just that I've never took pictures of it. So at the beginning of this week I decided that it was time to take some pictures and share my final project with you. The pattern it's so much fun and it knits up super fast. The first one I made was like the pattern really I made it short and sewed a button at the middle on the bolero. When I started making the second one I decided to make it a little longer so I can use it with my leggings. I love the way it came out! I like it better than the first one I made. In reference to the yarn I just used the Lion Brand Vanna's Choice, really price convenient and easy to take care of, and when your wallet it's hurting it's ideal! I put this pattern also in Ravelry

My Owls Sweater is finished

Well yesterday I posted about my finished sweater, but today my post it's gone! I think blogger is having problems with the servers. So they erased all the posts from yesterday!!!
So here I'm going to post again about the same thing my Owls sweater. This time I am not going to say much, I will just show you the pics and I would like to say that the pattern is great, I really enjoy knitting this sweater, it's easy to fallow and it knits up quite fast. It's my fault that I made it to tight, I didn't make a swatch! upsss.

So this is how my sweater looked like, I truly loved it. It was just too bad that It was so tight. And when I said "it was" I meant that I've already ripped it out.
Last night I put some new stitches on my needles to start all over again.
Patience, patience and more patience, that's what a knitter needs the most.

My first PDF pattern!

In the mean while I needed something new to cheer me up a little, and that’s why I spent lots of hour working on a new pattern. Yes a new pattern, but not for me or for any adults or humans for that matter. The pattern that I worked on it’s for Blythe dolls, a miniature pattern.

You see, I’ve never actually sold a pattern before except the one hat that went to the Knitting a day calendar, but that I actually wasn’t a sell was more like a contest.

So I decided to write down the pattern for one of the cardigans and I put in Ravelry and you can buy it through one of my Esty shop My TinyWorld.

So far so good. It feels great knowing that people that you don’t know would like to make your designs; it’s a happy feeling.

My sweater is finished but with tears!

Oh my! Were do I start. Remember that I was knitting the Owls sweater? You do, well I finished it! It came out beautifully except for the little detail that is that the armpits are soooooo tight!! I feel so disappointed! You see I followed every single instruction I even made the sweater a size bigger than mine, but still to small. The thing is that the whole sweater fits me like a glove except for the under arm, so tight that if I keep it like this, I won’t be able to wear anything under it. Nop, no my type, I like it tight but not that tight! I feel like my owls are going to explode in any minute!

So this is what I am going to do. I will get home, I will take a picture of the sweater and me, I will show it to you, and then I’m going to unravel it and I’ll start all over again!

And this time I’ll go for the 40”.

So yes, I’m very mad at the sweater and myself because I put a lot of work on it, for nothing, and it wasn’t like I was not trying it on while I was knitting, I tried it on a million times, until I started making the owls.

Oh well it’s nothing that I can do except start all over again and make perfect this time.

I'll show it to you later on so you can see that I’m not lying.

Sharing knitting memories

Pink pancitos baby cardigan

A while ago I knitted a little cardigan for my friend Naty's first baby Angelina. I don’t remember sharing this pattern on this blog, so I decided to talk about this little cardigan again.
The pattern is half in Spanish and half invented or improvised by me. I wrote the pattern somewhere, like the way you write when you know that is only you who is going to read it. I always thought about writing the pattern all-nice and in English, but I never did. Yesterday I was looking at my Ravelry projects and I saw that two people had asked me for the pattern saying that they would love to knit it. I thought for a while about this, about how lazy I get sometimes on my knitting, about how good could I really be if I could pay more attention to details? I came to a conclusion, from now on I'll write down everything relating to my knitting, I'll try to make more patterns to share. I'll get more accurate on my knitting, because I like it, because it's what I love to do! And my dream is to one day become a professional knitter.
Angelina was born as preemie baby and this cardigan was made for 3 to 6 month, so when her mom tried on
The cardigan on Angie it was so big that it covered almost her whole legs! But when she turned 3 month she was able to use it and she used it until she was 7 month old. My friend is still having the cardigan. The yarn I used was perfect for super washing. I would use it again.

Update: yesterday I finished my first sleeve for the Owl sweater! The sleeve came out so perfect; I was happy, proud of my work. You see I'm not very good at knitting with DPN, I'm a lot slower, but this time I was able to finish it in one afternoon! And I love the way the increase looks, so neat and precise.
I'll show the progress later when I get home.
Today it's rainy and I just wish I could be home, hanging with my husband and knitting!

I also like to cook

Sometimes, I really like to cook pastries too. This picture that you are seeing is a kind of dessert that I made last Saturday to take to my friends house.
These pastries are called facturas Argentinas, and they are very typical in my country, we eat them, for breakfast, or tea time, and very often for mate time.
It takes a long time to prepare, because the dough needs a lot of time to rest.
I made this batch to take to my friend's house last Saturday, she was having party and we had them as a dessert with coffee. They really liked them, I made a total of 37 pastries and in 15 minutes they were all gone!
My mom passed me the recipe, and I keep it as a treasure.

Owl sweater by Kate Davies.

On Sunday afternoon I decided to bring my needles out of the dust and start a new project for me. I’ve wanted to knit the Owl sweater by Kate Davies. I just simply loved this pattern since the first time I saw it, and since I have the perfect yarn for it “Suri Alpaca and Extra-Fine Merino Wool Yarn, I went for it! I bought this yarn on December of last year at a great price! The texture of this Suri-Merino is wonderful, so soft and light.

My plan is to finish this project on time to go to Argentina this July (winter time down there). I know that we are just at the end of April, but on spring/summer I slow down a lot on my knitting, simply because I have a lot to do, who doesn’t. I love being outside, talking my dogs with my husband, going to the pool, my Yoga classes, hanging out with my hubby and friends, going put for drinks, making jewelry, cooking sweets, and on rainy days knitting!!

Since I’m not very skillful on circulars needles it takes me a little longer to progress on my knitting, but so far so good, surprisingly I’m knitting much faster now! Finally! And since I haven’t knit anything since last February this project feels good. I can see energy sparkling off of my fingers tips!

Changing the subject, I have been reading a lot lately. I’ve already read 10 full books. My challenge is 30. Yesterday I finished reading “Water for Elephants”, it was fantastic and with a very unexpected ending. Now, I’m reading book #11 on the list, its called “Tatiana and Alexander”.

Something interesting: I use this website www.goodreads.com and it’s great because you can keep track of every book you have ever read. They also have giveaways yes for free! I got lucky sometimes and so far I’ve won 4 books! In on day I won 2!!!

Well, hello there!

My dad

I know, I know, I am sorry! I got lost... to much going on around here. I couldn't keep up with everything. But know I am back again.
Since last time I wrote I left for Argentina. The trip was awesome! I got to spent almost a month with my parents. I was able to take care of my dad while my mom was working, we had fun. I did everything so my mom could rest when she came from work. I will show you the photos later I promise. The only though part of the trip was that I really miss my husband. Three weeks and a half is a long time to be apart!
When I got home my father was no doing too well, he spent most of the time on bed, he wasn't able to shower by himself, he couldn't shave by himself, or cut his meat nether walk. My soul was crushed when I saw him, I didn't imagine to see him so sad. My mom was so happy to see me and we both planned what to do to bring him back on track again. My mom said " you are the only one who can help him, you have some kind of power on him that makes him better, he listens to you, you are the light of his eyes, together we can make him fell better", I hug my mom and I started to cry and she said don't worry "angelito" (liitle angel) I won't let anything bad happen to him, I promise. Well, since day one I started to take care of him, I started to spend lots of time with him, I will only leave the house to go buy groceries while he was napping, I took him to therapy, I cooked for him, I shaved him, I listened to him, we drank mate together, I made him walk little by little, I made him sat outside on the sunshine. On the 4th day... he was able to walk a block with out tumbling.
On the 6th day, he was able to take a shower by himself. On the 8th day, he was up all day only going to bed for two hours in the afternoon for napping. My mom couldn't believe it! The last two weeks my dad was my normal dad, of course he only walks with a walker, but he walks! He was happy, and bright and talkative. He help me cooking and set in up the table, we went everyday to wait form my mom to the bus stop.
He was him again.
So making a long story short, my trip was a miracle trip! I am so glad that I went in the perfect time.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for following me even though I was away for a long while.

Ohhhh I almost forgot to tell you, my mom loved the scarf!!!!!!! She took the letter I made with the scarf to her work and all the coworkers that read it cried! hahaha, they said it was so sentimental and deep that they couldn't content themselves. The only thing that I did forget and that I can't forgive myself for is that I did not take no One picture of the complete scarf!!!!!!! I know, don't mention it! But if I go back in July I will take plenty this time.
Oh my that I had a lot to say.

This is the story of my scarf

For me every item that I knit has a meaning at the end.

When I started knitting the scarf I felt invincible, because even though it was a difficult pattern for me I decided to make it. Well it was not easy.

I started the scarf about 6 times, and it was always something wrong. I was about to give up, to start another project easier. I was angry with myself.

One day I called my mother and she was not having a good day, things were getting complicated with my dad, she said to me: “ I don’t know what to do or from where to get more strength to keep me going, but I do know one thing hijita, I’m not giving up, I must keep going for him and for me, everything is going to be all right”.

After that conversation I realized that this scarf needed to be perfect and it needed to be done on time to take it to her.

Yesterday I finished the scarf for my mom. I can’t explain to you the satisfaction I felt when I cast of the last stitch, I felt proud because I didn’t give up, I did what my mother taught me, I kept going. I have to start blocking it tonight when I get home.

Today I wrote a story to my viejita (mom) about what that scarf represents to me, and besides all the content I wrote that I won’t share there is a part of it that I do want to share;

All the yarns over forming holes represent all the moments my mother needed me and I needed her and we were separated for thousand of miles, the bubbles represent happiness and each of it its full of happy memories!

Red is her favorite color and for me represents faith and strength. I choose a complicated pattern because it represents all the difficult moments that we went through with my dad and because we were all united and strong as a family he is doing better. I decided to make for her a scarf because when she’ll wear it will be close to her heart.

This is Me, a dreamer, a warrior and maybe this story might sound weird for you because you might have never associated your knitting with moments but remember that everything is related to everything.

I am going back home next week; I will be there for a month so if you don’t see me now you know why.

Knitting Lace

What wonderful day today! My dad is doing better yay!!!. He has started to walk a little by himself again ladies! I know that this has nothing to do with knitting, but I had to share this with you! You have not idea how happy this news made me!

Knitting:
Yesterday I started to knit the Lily of the Valley Estonian Lace Scarf, OMG!!! I forgot why I didn’t like Lace projects! I had to start the scarf 3 times! I know, what an idiot right? Well let me tell you something this is me knitting lace stitch, Ha!

Well the thing is that after the 3^rd try I master it! Yay!!!! And I was able to complete 36 rows without any mistakes! So tonight I will continue with that same goal, no making mistakes!

Oh, I wanted to tell you that last night while knitting and watching TV with my husband, he asked me if I could please make him a matching scarf for the Passion Hat II!

He designed it and everything, well he told me how he wants the colors to go together, and the length! How about that? So today I started knitting the called matching Passion Scarf, for him. I’m using US 6 because he likes when the feeling of the knitting is tight “without holes”, so it’s going slow!

A lot to knit and not enough time!

New year, New projects!

Well, Happy New Year for everybody!

This is the first post of the year, for that reason I want to start with something fresh, something new. I want to talk about the Estonian knitting technique and all the fabulous shawls that you can make following this style. I discovered this just the other day, and I was fascinated by it. They use so many different stitches on one piece, so many details to pay attention to. I had to learn how to make the NUPP (Estonian word for bubble), and the lace weight yarn that it looks gorgeous once the project is done, but it’s tedious to work with! Everything looks so complicated and different. I said to myself “ Sabrina… you have to try this, you must try to love lace technique and lace yarn”.

I felt attracted for a new challenge.

They are two shawls that I really like and I plan to make, well one of them is actually a scarf and the other one it’s a shawl.

The scarf is called: Lily of the Valley Estonian Lace Scarf / Estniska liljekonvaljer by Helene Wallin. This designer went to Estonia exclusively to learn the techniques and all the secrets to knit the Estonian shawls! I thought it was so cool.

Well, the shawl I want to knit is called: Echo Flower Shawl by Jenny Johnson Johnen. It is so beautiful!

Since I have never got into such a complicated lace project, I want to start with the easier one, I will make the scarf for my mother, and then I will make the wonderful shawl.

The thing is that I get distracted very easily when I knit lace and I mess up the stitches so that’s why I try to avoid it all the time, but now it’s time to grow up and focus.

In my opinion knitting lace makes you grow as a knitter.

So here I go today I started the scarf and I also started to love lace!!!!

I also wanted to share that I already started and finish two projects for 2011!! Yay the first 2 of the year!

This is what happened: Remember that I told you that I was making a hat (Passion Hat) for my husband with the baby alpaca? Well I did finish that hat for the 31^st of December, so he was able to use it for that night, as I wanted it. He completely loved it; he loved the colors, the feeling of the yarn and the fit not so much, because it came out a little to loose. But he was so excited that the hat was so warm and soft that he used it.

Well, On January 2^nd, I started another hat (I called it Passion hat II). I started and finished the same day! OMG it was a lot of work, I knitted all afternoon, but by 9:00pm it was ready and it was perfect! He couldn’t believe that I made another one so quick. I asked him “ Do you like it?”

He said: “ I love it, more than the first one, because it fits me perfectly, Thank you so much, I love you!” So there he is using the Passion Hat II all the time!!!!

Happy New Year!

I love to receive the New Year, it’s my favorite! I do all kinds of things. I have made clear that I am a very superstitious person. See, if you receive the year ready and in a positive way this are going to go better and easier.

This is hoe my day might be tomorrow:

1- Cleaning the house is very important! Get rid of clutter, put everything where it belongs. When you vacuum do it from inside to outside like throwing all the dust out the door! You want to keep only all the good vibe, so get rid of all the negativity in the house.

2- Water is great to collect negative energy; you should put one glass in each room in your house. If you see lots of bubbles on the water it means negative energy, do not drink this water, throw it out the toilet.

3- Change your sheets and clean all the dust off the furniture.

4- For yourself: Take a nice long shower scrubbing your body starting for your neck finishing on your feet.

5- Think positive, don’t think how bad this year was, think all the good moments you had and think next year is going to be better.

6- When you toast for New Year’s think of a wish from the deep inside your heart.

7- I like to finish a pending knitting project.

Well these are some of the things I will be doing tomorrow! I know I am crazy! Right? Well this is Sabrina 100%.

Knitting with Baby alpaca is like touching the clouds! My hands are happy and relax when knitting with such a soft and light yarn, and a smile comes and goes of my face when I feel the softness.

Yesterday afternoon when I got home from work my husband went to play poker at my friend’s house (I was suppose to go too, but I decided to stay). So it was the prefect the moment to start the Passion Hat, that’s how I called it. I love it so far! It feels like is going to be very light and warm. I can’t wait to finish it and give it to him.

I have to confess something… I might become Baby Alpaca addict… shhhh….

I just want to say that, I’m sending you a nice big hug, in case you need one to keep going, they help me.

Knitting with passion

In the middle of the fall I finished a hat for my husband. I picked the colors and the yarn. He has a pretty small head so I needed to make it perfect fit. I used cash merino yarn from Lion brand, super soft and easy to knit. The hat came out nice; he really liked it, although he said it’s just a little tight, but he has been using it everyday because is very warm and he likes how it looks.

I have to confess I feel flatter when he wears my creations! He wears the hats and scarves with such a proud that makes me smile and little hearts start coming out of my eyes when I look at him! hahaha (like the cartoons). I knit with passion when when I knit for him.

Today I was thinking about him and this cold freezing weather, and I decided that it’s time to be a good wife and making another one. This time I am using Baby Alpaca, so so soft and warm! I’m not going to tell him, it’s going to be a surprise.

All right, so today at my lunchtime I went to the Old Town Needle shop in Manassas, VA. They have a very nice selection of yummy yarns. I looked around and touched a lot of different yarns, until I found just what I was looking for Soft Baby Alpaca DK.

I picked three different colors to combine them, black, light gray and dark gray. I am thinking about making some uneven stripes around. So we’ll see. I want to have this project finish for New Year’s Eve, so can use the new hat at midnight.

As I say before I love to celebrate New Year’s, and I believe that you have to receive the year wearing something new on! So that’s why I want to finish it on time!

My Slouchy hat

Well I started this hat a while ago, and for some reason It turn out more like a barret than a slouchy hat, having said that I have to say that I love the way it turned out! I can put all my hair in the hat and it super warm and comfy! I like the color as well and the yarn is very nice.

Well, Santa thought I was a good girl and brought what I wanted
I only asked for the set of interchangeable circular knitting needles fro Knit Picks, and i got them!!!!! Now I don't have to worry about looking for needles or buying different sizes, because I have them all. I also been wanting for a night face lotion from Estee Lauder (pretty expensive one) and Santa husband was so nice that he got me that one too!!! and he also got me a beautiful amigurumi book, that he thought it was so cute!

So now, I am all set, good lotions, good needles, good husband and a new coat!!!!!!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and now we are having a wonderful Christmas! I feel blessed.

Going through bad times

Sorry that I am not blogging these days, but my dad is not doing really well. I am just so worry that I can’t think straight. I am physically here in the States, but my heart, soul and mind are with my dad at the hospital in Argentina.

Romantic get away Weekend!

Today I am wearing my Baltazar Vest. I like it, but I don’t love it. Something about it is not really comfortable, like the under arm is a little tight, other than that it’s fine. The yarn is really warm, soft and light.

As I said, in one of the post, right now I am working on my second bolero which I am planning to make a little longer so I can use with my leggings, so I guess it woulnd’t be a bolero anymore but a “long-lero” hahaha.

Well I also want to share that I am having a special get away weekend! My husband and I decided to go for a short trip to a City that we haven’t visited yet, so we are going to San Francisco California! We have wanted to go to visit this City for a very long time; we are really excited and anxious! If you know of any special place or yarn shop that you think is a must visit place please let me know, so I don’t miss it!

We like to drive a lot, so we are planning on visiting lots of different places even maybe Reno the biggest smallest city in the world! So we are planning to have a lot of fun, our mini honeymoon!

I promise that I will post beautiful pictures!

Free Infertility treatments!

One of my dreams came true! I am so so so so so so HAPPY

On December 3^rd, 2010 in Argentina (my country) a new law has been approved. This law says that from now on all infertility treatments are FREE including In –vitro fertilization, for all the Argentinian citizens. ( I am one of them)

This is so great, because many people are going to have the possibility to try to become a parent!!!!

Everybody should have the same rights on this matter, and now it’s possible for everyone!

Knitting makes me relax

Well yesterday when I got home I started my Cloud bolero #2. After casting on a knitted about 2 rows and I decided to stop and called my dad. Well he wasn’t doing very well. He was going to the hospital as soon as my mom arrived.

Imagine me, miles and miles away not being able to help them, I was so nervous and frustrated I hate waiting for answers. I didn’t know what to do. So, I tried to eat some dinner and then I decided that the best way to relax a little bit was making some linden tea and knitting. My husband knows that, so he encouraged me to relax.

Well, it worked I got to relax a little bit until I heard from my brother and everything was fine. Honestly distance socks badly!

Well today everything looks brighter, my dad is doing better, but still we have to keep waiting for the final diagnostic.

Today I was at work and you know I didn’t have much to do, so my mind started to go really fast so I pulled out form my purse a wonderful book about knitting called

“The Knitting Answer book” by Margaret Radcliffe.

Let me tell you something it is great; it has all kinds of questions and an answer for each of them. While I was reading I felt that a lot of my knitting questions were answer in a complete way. I recommend this book to every knitter that is not an expert yet; of course if you are an expert you already know all the answers. I got this book from the library and read it so fast that is almost over.

Suri Alpaca fExtra fine Merino soooo Softtttt!!!!!

What a gray day today! I wish I was home knitting on my sofa watching something fun, but in reality I am stock at work like the majority of us. During lunchtime I went to Hancock fabrics to see what they had. I found some cheap yarn the Vanna’s Choice from Lion Brand in Dusty green color. I love it! I am planning to knit me another bolero, since the one I knitted has been use a lot. Well I can’t complaint the yarn is pretty decent and is machine washable (what a relieve), and I only spend $7 because it was 30% Off!!!

I have to confess that yesterday I found a place online that sells Suri Alpaca Extra fine merino from Plymouth for $4,95 a skein!!!! http://www.fabulousyarn.com/plymouth_main_surimerino.shtml

I was shock. Do you have any idea about how soft this yarn is? Well let me tell you it’s soft as a cloud! So this morning after thinking for a long time I went to the website again and I browsed all over again until I decided to finally buy it. I bought 7 skeins of Suri Alpaca extra fine Merino for $34.00 less $3,50 discounts it came up as $31.00 and is Alpaca!!!!!

So, after all I have cheap yarn and good quality yarn. I think I have an idea about what I am going to make with my Suri Alpaca, but I am not sure yet. What I do know is that today when I get home I am going to start knitting another Bolero from Ysolda, because I love them!

My Baltazar Vest is done, I will show pictures really soon.

Knitting and finished projects

I can believe that Thanks Giving is so close! We already bought the turkey and all the rest of the food, delicious! So Thanks Giving is already here and the weather is still like spring time! How cool is that? I wonder if winter is going to come this year…mmm… I wonder if it is going to get cold enough to be able to use my chunky knits? I hope so! Last Sunday I started a new project from the Twinkle's Big City Knits, yes another one. I love that book, and there are like 4 more projects that I really like, so you will be seeing more chunky knits from me. Well the pattern that I am doing right now is called Balthazar vest. I am using Landscapes yarn- Rose garden- from Lion Brand. Super soft and light and very warm. So far I love it. I don’t know if it’s going to be enough yarn though; and if I run out of yarn it is going to be a problem because that specific yarn has been discontinued. Yes I know, I should have thought about that before starting, but the thing is that I have all this yarn and I needed it to use it. So we’ll see what happens.

Today I also updated Ravelry with pictures of my finish projects; one of them was my February Lady Sweater. I like when everything looks nice and completed.

Things I wanted to show

Girls here is the finished product! I wish I could have taken a better picture of my bolero, but it was too dark and I just couldn't wait any longer to should it to you. I want to show you also how it looks on me so you can give me your opinion. I have to say that this is the first pattern that I used from Ysolda and let me tell you it was perfect! I loved it! Now I want more of her work. I want her book really bad! She rocks!

I also wanted to show you the progress of my shopping tunic, last night I decided to un-knit again and I was able to make it fit! So I will finish it tonight. I am so tired of looking at it. I really want to finish it because the weather is supposed to get really cold next week, snow involved and everything, so I want to be ready, cozy and warm.

Last night I remember that I've never posted a picture of my first published pattern the one that came out on Knitting Pattern a day. Well here are the pictures of how my pattern really looks!

I've submitted another pattern for 2012 and I am supper excited about I hope it can make to the calendar again.

Knitting crisis!

You have not idea how many times I remake the neck of the shopping tunic! OMG! It's driving me crazy! This is looking really bad. I do NOT like the look, shape or form of that neck, It turns out freaking HUGE!

Nooooo, I am way too short for that type of neck I look like a big" walking sweater". Patience Sabrina, breath, it is going to be only the 4^th time that you un-knit this project, breath. You have to redo it again, so take it easy lady! I know, I know i said to myself! Even though I talk to myself i am NOT crazy (well just a little bit).

So last night that’s what I did, while watching the Pacific (HBO war mini series) with my husband, I un-knitted all the neck again to the shoulders; I left it ready to start knitting again, this afternoon when I come back home from work, I just want to finish it! In the mean while I say to myself “

I also wanted to share with you that my adorable husband got us tickets to go to the U2 concert for June 2011!!!! He was alerted so he new the first day the tickets went on sale and he got row 11 baby!!!!! I will see Bono so close that is going to be awesome! Besides U2 has a couple of songs that are very special to us, so is going to be a magic night.

I can’t wait!!!

Knitting and me

Knitting… it takes my mind again, it’s my therapy, it activates my imagination and I create. Magic is what I feel when I project is done, when I can see the results, when I know I am wearing something made by me on my favorite color and my favorite length.

So I’ve been knitting away a lot this week. You see when I worried there is a point during the day that I need to let go, and then is when I grab my needles and my hands do all the work leaving my brain to rest. On Wednesday night I finished a hat for my husband, he needed one, it’s like a gray with two burgundy stripes. He was happy but a little disappointed because the color that used was really similar to the color I had used last year, but he liked and he’ll said he’ll use it. It was the perfect fit.

I have been wanted to knit “ the shopping tunic” from Twinkle's Big City Knits for a long time, but I didn’t have the correct needles to start it. So I decided to finally look for the needles. So expensive! The place in Old Town Manassas wanted $15.00 for a Clover bamboo pair and $22 for a pair of Addis!!!!! Nooooo I can afford that! Sorry. So I decided to go online to Etsy and I found a wonderful shop that had the needles that I needed it. Do you know how much did I pay for the same pair of Clover bamboo needles? You won’t believe it! …………..

$4.00 for a pair!!!!!!!!! And $1.00 for shipping! I bought two pairs of different sizes and I spend including shipping $9.00 and only $9.00 dollars. So yesterday when I got home the needles were there in my mailbox. I was able to start my project and so far I love it!

I will show later. I am planning on taking plenty of pictures this weekend so you can see everything.

Today I am using my First Bolero!! It looks so cute! I feel proud when I remember that I made this bolero, hihihihi.

The pattern is by Ysolda , love this girl, she makes really beautiful things. I wish I could knit as well as she does. Her work inspires me a lot.

Happy Halloween!

I just wanted to share that yesterday my husband and I did the pumpkin carved, for me was the first time ever, I was happy as a kid! We bought two pumpkins one for him and one for me. I copied whatever he did, like he sometimes says "watch and learn" and that's what I did.
After a little while my first pumpkin was done! and his too.

Today around 7:00pm I put the camera and we video chat with my mom and we should her everything, well in Argentina they don't celebrate Halloween so she loves to see what is like here, you know.

I found this cute little bag on sale for $4.99 right next to my work and I am loving it! I can fit a project and I filled the pockets with all the tools. I don’t loose anything anymore! This is unbelievable I can keep everything in one place now.I recommend this little bags they are great and ones you get used to them you won't be able to not have one.

Last night I found a sock that I was knitting long time ago and never finished, well I paid a lot of money for the yarn used on the sock, so i decided to un-knitted and start another par of socks. So well see what it comes out of that project!
Sharing personal things today.

Today I feel great! I have to share this with you guys, and all this happiness because my mind has finally clicked! Remember that I told you that last Saturday I might go to my friend’s house? Well I went. My friend’s sister has a daughter in law and she was there. She is studying alternative medicine, and we talked a lot. She gave me great advices full natural tips. Talking to her made me realized that I was wrong. She said to me whenever you feel afraid about a situation think the opposite. For example if you are afraid of your dad’s health issues, think about your father holding your baby, think about him playing and enjoying his company. Don’t think negative. She was right!

So when I got home that night I sleep on those words and on picturing all this wonderful things that I would like to see, I felt relieved. I talked to my dad and I told him that I am not scared anymore and that now instead of thinking of him sick and not able to get pregnant, I think of him holding my baby, and you know what he said he gave the sweetest smile and I feel like he was immediately happy.

It’s funny how sometimes somebody that you don’t know tells you something that you already knew, but you couldn’t see, and it takes that person to open your eyes.

I just feel better now, a really negative thought that has been hunting me for a long time is finally gone. Bye Bye stupid thought! And I want to say THANK YOU to Darla for opening my eyes.

Sometimes is good to share personal thoughts and experiences, and today is one of those days.

Relaxing Friday!

Today is Friday Ladies! We get to relax and start this wonderful weekend. The weather website said that it’s supposed to be cold in the afternoon and night time, ideal for knitting while husband is at work! It will have to be tomorrow for me because luckily my husband is off tonight! So we are going out to have fun!

Last night I finished a hat it looks really nice, I am happy with the results.

Since all I’ve been knitting are hats, I fell like I want to start knitting a sweater or a bolero, something different. The only thing though is that I need yarn and I am broke right know. So I guess I will have to keep knitting small things until next Friday that I get pay, Ha!

I have this beautiful hand spun soft merino wool mixed , and is approximately 135 yards that I bought I while ago at Etsy, but I don’t know what to make, because is not a lot. Any ideas will be appreciated!

And then I have these yarn that I bought in Argentina on my last trip, I have not clue about what kind of yarn is its, I am thinking silky hand spoon something and I haven’t decided what do I want to do with it either.

Tomorrow I might go visit a good friend of mine because yesterday was her Birthday, she is a wonderful person full of stories and she always makes me laugh. She lives with her sister, who I meet first and I love her like my aunt! Whenever I go to their house they make me feel like home, they make my favorite food, they give me hugs and auntie love. They are on her late 60’, so I am like the tiny one there, you know. So well see.

To finish this post I want to share with you a picture of my girls! Yes I have two doggies, Maggie May (Golden Retriever) and Mia Jam ( a black lab), they are the sweetest dogs and I love them to death. They are hanging out with me all day when I am home. Maggie Loves blankest and Mia Scarves!

When you knit, what do you think?

What a beautiful night yesterday, Happy for a lot of families and people, all the miners in Chile started to get rescued! After being in the mine for 2 and a half months! I was so glad for them and their families. So while knitting away I was watching the rescued, wauu I could not believe how tiny the capsule was, but they make it through so that was great!

Happy for them, the second miner said, “ the devil and god were fighting for two month, GOD won the fight! -This sentence makes my eyes watery-.

Well, changing the subject, I wanted to ask you something, when you are knitting do you feel like you have time to think? I do, I think a lot. Yesterday I thought about how fortunate my family and I were. We are healthy! I always think that health is the first thing you need to be happy, because you can have all the money in the world but sometimes is not enough to buy health! Right?
Another thing is that I've been working on a new pattern, new stitch, to send to the knitting contest. I've written the pattern down and today I need to take the pictures. It needs to be ready for Friday. Unfortunately I can't show it to you because you have to keep it secret until the calendar gets published, but it looks so cute!

Last thing I wanted to share was that yesterday when I arrived home a cute and friendly dog came out to say hi! She was adorable, after saying hi she took off. I came outside a few minutes later and there she was jumping up and down came running to say hi again. Then I saw a guy standing there and I asked him if it was his dog and he said no, but another one is here too! Well they were lost! Poor puppies...
I called my husband and told them the story and he called the hospital to see if we could get the owners info. We found out that one of them was named Cleo and the other one Shiva. I went inside and from my deck I heard a lady yelling Cleoooo!!! I felt relived when I heard that.
I run and said to my husband "I think I found the owners!" and run to encounter the lady. She was actually the owner and she felt more relived then me. Well this story has a happy ending and the doggies went home safely and happy for having an adventure. I felt good because we were able to help them.

My bubble yarn Shawl

Remember that I told you that last March I went to Argentina and I brought yarn? Well this is the bubble yarn that I bought down there. I have a lot of different colors.

I love the way it came out; the bubbles are super soft and warm!

For this shawl I used US 35 needles, the yarn doesn’t have a specific name here in the US it’s called bubble yarn.

I really like this shawl! It looks like it has little lights or something, doesn't it?

Today I am working on a new hat pattern to submit to the Knitting a Day pattern calendar since the dead line is on Friday I have to hurry!

My new hair cut!

This is my new hair cut, the hair dresser took 8" out! It was a lot of hair! I am going to donate it. So It feels good and my husband really liked it!

I called this one My first completed Fair Isle hat.I really like the finished results. It took me a lot of patience and concentrations to knit, but It was worst it. Now I have to make a beautiful flower for it.

This Hat is very special, because I didn't mean to make like this, but after a few rows the stitch I was suppose to do had nothing to do with the I was doing, but I left it and it came out strange, so for that reason I called this hat "Strange Hat".

I'm not a fan of the lace stitch, but since i never actually tried one I decided to give it a try this time.Wauu I love it! I was so wrong, this stitch looks so pretty and it's super easy to make!

New Hair style for me ladies really soon!

I've always wanted to have a different hair cut, but I don't have the ovaries to just go and do it!
You see I have curly hair so it's not that easy to decide to have a new hair do.
I've been thinking about it a lot and I came to the conclusion that if i don't do it now, I will never going to.
So, on Saturday at 3:00pm I have an appointment with a stylist to have a new hair cut, and this time I am going to go short!

What I want is something like this hair cut that Jennifer Aniston has, not that I love her but I really like her hair style. Wish me luck and I will show my new me on Saturday!

As I said yesterday I have been exploring the art of Fair Isle Knitting, just a little more complicated. On one of my hats I was able to use my OWN chart pattern! Yes ladies and gentleman I always wanted to make one and I found myself lost on the paper, but now everything has changed.

Today is a beautiful day for knitting, rainy, gray, chili, Yes definitely perfect for knitting! Like yesterday afternoon, and that was what I did just knit. You see, with a day like yesterday I feel like watching girly movies and knit cozy and comfortable on my couch. Well my husband worked until 4 pm so I had plenty of time! Saturday I started working on a hat, with Fair Isle technique, sharing only two colors, but doing a complicated pattern. It was a hard pattern because if you got a little distracted you were fried! Un-kit and re-knit again! So it did require a lot of patience. Late in the afternoon my hat was ready, and I was a happy camper, I was extremely happy with the results!

I love the color combination that picked and the pattern itself!

I will be posting pictures later on today so you can see it.

It looks really cute!

This year I decided to take a lot of more risks at knitting, I want to tried difficult patterns and I want to knit me anther sweater. I love the designs on this book Twinkle's Big City Knits: 31 Chunky-Chic Designs, my favorite is the one called

Every time I see this Sweater my hands start to itch, I love it!

I have the patterns, I have the yarn I just need the needles US19 circulars. So we’ll see what happens.

Right know I am working on hats, because I have to have 10 ready in two weeks. I have knitted 5 so far so I am doing OK. You have to see them all! I'll take pictures later on to show you!

This is the time of year when I like to start making changes on my life.

I like to re-organized things, and make new decisions. I have wanting to take yoga, pilates or zumba classes for a very long time, and of course I always find a very nice excuse not to do it, and then another year goes by.

Last Monday I went to the Gym and took a Zumba class, OMG!!!!! What a class ladies!

I started thinking it was going to be easy, pssh this is nothing, I thought….after 15 minutes into the class and I was OMG! I need a break, where is my water!!!!!! I am so hot, wauuu I am sweating… after 55 minutes I was Happy, and destroyed!

I think Zumba is a really happy class, music, movements, you laugh a lot, you feel your energy levels rising really quick, but you also feel your body working really good, you work almost every part of your body dancing!!

Well, when I got home I had a talk with my husband and told him that I wanted to join the Chinn Center Gym, he said “go ahead if it makes you feel good, do it!”. He is my sunshine! So, on Wednesday I become a member for a month! That same day, I took another Zumba Class and yesterday I went to do my YOGA!

I feel great, happy from inside out! Zumba gives me energy and my body works really hard to keep up with the flowing of the class, Yoga gives me peace, calm, balance, harmony, and my body works hard too!

Next week I am going to try Pilates! And if I like I will do the three classes alternatively.

So this is me today happy as a clown!

Today I am thinking about going to a Zumba class and then to the sauna to get detox!

I am loving my life, my family, my friends, my dogs and myself.

I while ago a told you that when I got to Argentina this last time my husband managed to record a little video of my mom and me, well here it is! This is one of my favorite videos ever, everytime I watch it my eyes get all watery and my heart gets super hipper happy! My mom is the one on white, she is waiting for me at the Airport in Buenos Aires, It's been a year since last time I visited her, and she didn't know I was coming to the back, the one in black is my aunt.

I hope you can feel the love that only a mom can give to a daughter, I love her with all my heart!

Today is all about the pending pictures that I've promised for so long. Last night I got to uploaded all my pictures to the computer so I will have plenty of projects to show you.

First I would like to start with some of the yarn that I bought on my last trip to Argentina, I don't know the name of it or what is made of because it doesn't say, but it's extremely soft and fuzzy, love this yarn to knit scarf or something that will go around your neck, or a chunky baby sweater, it is out of this world! I wish you could touch it, I really do! Great scarfs are coming for this winter, would you like one? Let me know with time, because this yarn flies out of my hands!

Well, now I would like to show you some of my latest creations on necklaces. These ones are the ones I've mention on the last two posts. They already sold.
This is the Green Necklace set, made of green and yellow turquoise.

This is one of my favorites, It's called The Star set. For this set I used 925 silver and semiprecious black gold-stone.

Then I made a colorful necklace with some sort of shell that I brought from Argentina,

Charity and life

Where to start? mmmm... well I have been busy! Yes that is right, that's the word, busy, but in a good way.
Since my last post I didn't stop moving and making and swimming, and hanging out with friends. I finished all the jewelry, my client loved it!! I was so proud of myself, I like to see when people is happy wearing my creations!

I got to go to the pool a lot these days, and that is my favorite, I love water!!! Did I say that I love water? I must have been a fish in a past life! hahaha

Yesterday I went to the post office to deliver a happy package, I knitted hats to donate to the Hat in the Box Foundation. Then I got hocked and keep looking for more places to donate knitting items! I found a place that seems really cool that it's called Knit-a -square, this organization send the squares to South Africa to Orphan children with AIDS. So I have package ready to go with crocheted squares and now I am working on a square vest for the same organization I want to knit at least 3 or 4 so I can send them all together otherwise the postage is going to get really expensive. To be honest, the best feeling comes when you give away without waiting for anything in return.

Today I went to Safeway and I saw a propaganda about Diabetes,(as you might know my father is type 1 diabetic, and he has to use insulin every day) it was about a big walked, the "Step Out Walk to fight Diabetes". You know what... I am going to do it! I am going to walked 4 miles for my dad, for the cure to this horrendous disease.. I am going to called him tonight and I ma going to tell him what I am going to do, I can wait to hear what he has to say... he is going to be really happy and he is gonna say, " yes let go find the cure". I have three friends that might joy me. (I am really happy about this!)

Tonight my hubby and I are going to have dinner with two friends, we are going to Maggiano's, it's so yummy! I already know what I am going to have! hahaha I pic at the menu already shhhhh!

Well I have to go, but first I want to say something. I've been reading a lot lately remember that I told you so, for that reason I have a good recommendation to give you guys, there is a book that I am sure that you might have read already, but in case you haven't you MUST read it, it's called
A thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, he is the author who wrote The Kite Runner another excellent book, But this book is incredible and if you are an independent woman it is going to touch your heart, and is going to make smile, and cry you'll feel like you want to get in the book and help!. One of my favorite books so far.

If anybody has a good book to recommend please let me know, I always like to hear different opinions!

My Girly Hat!

Remember that long time ago I told you guys that I've submitted a hat pattern for the Knitting Calendar a Day, well I got my response on that one. My pattern made it for the 2011 Calendar! It's going to be publish for the month of September as a bonus! It's true I didn't win the first place or the second, but at least I made it through, and I am in!
I think I am going to design something more complex for the 2012 calendar, and try again this time for the first place!

So yesterday when I got home I drank my mate with home baked bread (yummy!) and then I started working on three necklaces that I needed to finish for a client. On one I used yellow turquoise and glass beads, and the other one has yellow jade, and some other stones that at the moment not remember the name, the third one was just to finish it. I will post some pictures later on, I haven't taken them yet.

Tonight I have to make two more necklaces for one I a going to use violet jade, and for the other black goldstone, I love that one!
I can't wait to get home and take pictures!!!

Just Moments...

After two painful and sad past weeks, I decided that is was time to write something about my life. On July 8th was my birthday, I turned 31! I know I thought I was going to be excited but something really sad happened to me and hubby ( I decided not to tell) but let's put it this way: "sometimes God gives you things for just a moment and then having his reasons, he decides that is better to take them away". So that's way we couldn't celebrate my birthday as we wanted. The good thing though was that we were more together than ever! My lovely husband is the best husband in the whole wide world, he really is!. So here I am, trying to start all over again. I feel better know with lots of energy and more content.

So to get my mind away sad things I started knitting for my divina Blythe doll Luna, I made some hoodies. When I went to Argentina my mom helped me to figured the pattern out so now I am able to knit it! I made three so far this pink one,

I have to confess that little while ago I bought a book , with lots of sewing patterns to start making dresses for my doll and my shop. The clothing for her is so expensive that I better start making it myself! ( No to play with it, (shhhhh,) but for my shop!) My husband won't let me spend a penny on the doll ( and he is right) its just that it is so tempting to buy tiny things!

This is the book is written in Japanese but it has all the pictures necessary to understand the step by step!

So this is what I have been doing working for my little shop My Tiny World , I also have been working on some jewelry for my Sabrina Creations shop! and as I have mention I have some local clients that like what I do and they ask me for new items. So happy me.

I have to say that I missed everybody, and I hope we can get on track again blogging more often.

Argentina and me

My vacation in Argentina was fabulous. Weather was perfect around 70 to 75 degrees!

When we got to the airport the plane landed on the old building and my whole family was waiting for us at the new building. So we got the luggage and walked to where they were. I told my hubby to recorded the moment I was surprising my mother and he did!!!!!

This is what happened:

I walked towards her and poke her back and when she turns (thinking it was my father) she saw me and started to scream!!!!!!! And hugged me so hard that I lost my breath and we both cried!!!! When she hugged me I got the scent of her hair, the same delicious one as always, I felt safe, and that honest hug let me know I was home, that no matter how old I get, I am always going to be her little baby girl!! My dad was there too, he was so happy! We all were. It was a really happy time. They were thrilled that my hubby got that special moment on video!

I got to spend a lot of time with my family specially my mother and father. My husband wanted to stay at his grandmother’s, so we will sleep together just a few nights a week. I think this time he felt lonely sometimes when I was spending time with my parents. I felt bad, but I had so much to do with them, I needed to help them with a lot of things. Husband is my sunshine he is so comprehensive and nice to them and me. I’m fortunate to have such a wonderful husband. Every time that we come back from Argentina our relationship gets a lot stronger and better.

Life has been good lately I can’t complaint. I have been not creating at all because I have a visitor. My sister in law came to visit from Argentina a week after I came from there. So you can imagine all the cleaning and preparations to welcome her. The fact that she came as a surprise for my mother in law (for mother’s day week) was even more work for myself. I had to clean and do all the rest secretly. So it wasn’t easy but it was worth it!

We are having a great time but this wonderful vacation is ending for her; She is going back home this Wednesday. My husband is so happy to have her sister at home they are spending a lot of time together which it’s great.

Well once we get into schedule again I have to start working, and honestly I have a lot to do. Summer is strong for sales specially jewelry, I have clients that wait to see what I make. It makes me feel real god.

I bought beautiful yarn in Argentina from this company called Mousa; oh my they sell the best Yarn in Buenos Aires, my hubby help me to pick up the colors. And then we went to a place that specializes in jewelry supplies and I got a lot! My husband was more excited than me, he helped me to pick up colors and one of kind rocks and he gave ideas for cool combinations, there is not doubt that he knows his colors (he is a Graphic Designer). He was so supporting he really believes in me and when necessary he will give honest opinions on my creations, and honestly it feels good!

So this is what has been going on in my world. As I always say I will post some pictures soon.

What's going on?

Away, I have been away from my blog, from my readers from my friends, but my heart and thoughts are always there thinking about you.
Today is a new day, my new home is being so cozy to us, we like it very much. I still have moving thing around and we have some decoration left to do. We had many friends over and already lots of good times at the new house.
Since we have only one office now, half of it it’s mine and the other half it’s my husband. It works out really well because he is so nice that let me do whatever I want with the décor. The only problem is that the room is a little small but you know what it’s really cute and we are happy.
Well we decided that it was time for us to go to visit the family and so we are going to Argentina in 12 days! I am really excited about this. My father really needs me this time, he just lost his brother and so he needs lot of TLC. My mom is so happy that she can’t wait to see us! Well and all the rest of the family is the same. We are going to be there for my husband’s grandmother 94th birthday!!!!!
I have been researching for places that sell beads and all that kind of stuff to buy and bring some items, because for summer time I like to activate my jewelry store and sometimes I find really unique beads.
I also started to crochet a blanket and it’s going really smooth and I love the colors that I have picked. I wanted to take it to Argentina to use it on the airplane, but I don’t know if I will, we are flying business class so I don’t think that this time is going to be necessary.

I am here just happy and not feeling really well (health problems), but I try to keep going and enjoy every minute of my life at the fullest.

Today it’s been 2 days without smoking, I am just so proud of myself. I promised my mother that I was going to quit and I promised myself this too long ago, I have not excuses, it’s time. I did open my eyes and I can believe how stupid I have been, why in the world will I kill myself if the only thing I want is to live long and happy? Well I don’t want to be stupid anymore; I don’t want to have any lung, heart, mouth, stomach, or arteries problems in the future. I don’t want to stink or have wrinkles and I don’t want to see my mother suffering because my addiction, this is enough. In the last past year one uncle was diagnosed with emphysema, another past way with lung cancer and one of my friends might have emphysema. So I don’t want to be next, I have the power to quit, I have the power to control my mind, and if I get stressed out I will carry hard candy to suck on them.
I feel relive! I have to convince my dad, my husband and my friend Cheli to quit now.

Helping other makes my heart smile

Thinking about my country and how poor some areas are made me realized that we need to help each other a little bit more. I felt like knitting for the kids in need in the area, but I couldn’t find any information whatsoever

I wrote to a newspaper that had published an article about El Impenetrable Chaco, I hope to hear from them with some kind of data. Knowing that people in The Chaco are dieing from starvation, and nobody is doing anything makes me so so mad. Well I want to help in any way possible even if it's just a hat, even if it can help one person. Sometimes when you have so much you just don't appreciate the little things, sometimes you just forget.

In the mean while I came out with the idea of knitting for the Hat Box foundation; they give the hats to hospitals that take care of patients with cancer that are going to the quimo process and they are losing their hair. I want to do this one in memory of my dear aunty Elba, (she is my little angel de la guardia now), she was my mom’s sister and we lost her in 1994. Also I want to do it because I have a dear friend of my soul that fought against the evil illness and she won! And I am so proud of her, she is so strong and has such a nice and beautiful heart, she is my oldest best friend.

So I told my friend the fighter, her sister, my mother in law and me to go ahead and knit for charity,and we all are going to knit for these people. It’s going to be a project full of love, friendship and care that it's going to be stamp in our hearts for ever.

I also called the Prince William Hospital and they are in need of preemie’s hat. So I will start working on that too. Can you imagine little tiny babies being cold? I would love to take a bunch to the hospital, if you are interested in this project please email me or left me a comment about it; I would love to collect more and more hats for these poor babies. If you need a preemie baby hat pattern let me know I have a bunch.

Nice Opportunities

Sometimes life gives you opportunities and you need to know how to take advantage of them. Sometimes we see them sometimes we don’t. Today I was surfing online and I went to see the Knit Picks site. I like their yarn; they have good quality for great prices. Today I found out that Knit Picks is offering an Independent Designer Partnership program, really cool.
I thought for a moment and I smile…mm I think this is a good opportunity, isn’t it? I told myself. So I looked through my handmade hat pictures and I pick two that I had made with their yarn. I hesitated for a moment, and I just did it; I sent Knit Picks and email showing them my work and telling them that I would love to be part of that wonderful program. I keep my fingers cross. I felt like a wonderful opportunity was right there in front of me and I had to take it. The thing is that almost all my work is made with their yarn. I love it, the price it’s great, and the quality is really good. We’ll see what happens.
I have to be honest, I feel like knitting again! So today I might start my husband’s hat. My hands are itching. …Needlessssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Year, New House!!!!!!!!

Well first of all Happy New Year!!!

I have been lost in my little tiny world, doing things and doing nothing. It seems to me that the weather makes me really lazy! I used to love wintertime but now I don’t know anymore, I am changing. I think I like warmer days, maybe summer! ~~Wauu from winter to summer~~! Who knew!

My life has been very much crazy lately, in a good way though! We started looking to buy a house and we found one! Yes it will be my first own house, so can you imagine how exciting I am, right? My husband and I thought it was a good time to grow and invest in a home, our first home! So here we are packing what we're keeping and donating what we don’t want. We are sooo happy, we can’t believe that we were able to accomplish this dream. It feels great.

I have to say that everything in my sewing room has been packed away! ! So that’s why you won’t see any knew creations until maybe February. I only left out a ball of yarn and needles US7 to make a hat for my husband. That’s the only thing that he uses knitted by me, HATS. Which I like when he wears it and somebody said something about the hat and I can see his proud face saying “ oh my wife made it for me”, his eyes looking to meet mine and a smile comes out of his sweet face.

My new sewing room is going to be a little smaller that the one I have right now, but it has a beautiful window and lots of natural light. I don’t know if I am going to paint it yet, but I am already planning where to put my desk.

Well this is what’s going on in my tiny world at the moment.

OHHH I forgot to mention that I might go to Argentina on March or April. My parents don’t know yet, since I haven't buy the ticket yet I don't want to say anything until I am one hundred % sure.

Grey but Happy

Today is a very grey day here in Woodbridge, but it's has been grey for 3 days now. It's funny because even though the weather is bad and the days are grey I feel happy and in peace.
I have been knitting for my Blythe doll this week, I had some customers asking me to start creating again so I did. But I need to be honest here and tell you that i love to knit for these dolls it's so much fun! You can make go your imagination so far and create cute little things!

I also finish my cardigan the one a started with this very thing yarn I will post pictures of it really soon.

Sometimes love is real, this is one of them

When I called to my parent’s house today, my mom answered the phone; she told me that yesterday she had to come home rushing from work because my dad called her saying that he was not feeling well. She said that when she got home, she saw my dad alone and lonely. As soon as my dad saw that she came for him he started to feel better. By dinnertime he was feeling even better.

My mom said that she thought and felt that my dad was feeling too lonely (my mom works long hours and because dad is diabetic he stays home all the time) so that was the main reason why he called her. She sat with him drink some tea, talked, and they both felt better.

Later on I called again to talked to him, and when I asked him how he was feeling he said, OK now. “And what happened yesterday dad?” I asked, he simply said “ mmm I had a stomach ache and and…I just missed your mother so much and I wanted her to come home, maaa que tanto. So I called her That’s OK right?” I said, of course it is OK.

What it really touches me the most it’s that they have been married for 33 years now, and they love each other as the first year of marriage. My mother is everything for my father, but I mean EVERYTHING, and my mom will do whatever it takes to take care of him, they can’t be apart.

While I’m writing this tears come from my eyes. I wish and hope my marriage will last so long and so full of love. Real love it’s hard to find these days, but this example feeds my soul and I love my husband so much that sometimes I surprise of how big love could be!

I just wanted to share a very important part of my life.

Love… all you need is love, la la la la!

Happy Birthday Dad!!!!

Today is November 3rd and it's my dad's Birthday!!! I wish I could be with him, but he is in Argentina and I'm here in the US. I have flown for his Birthday twice before! He loved it! But not this year, we are working on something else this time, and my dad is happy with it too! So I wish you the Birthday of you life, lots of happiness, love and even more lots of health!!!! Te Amo papi!

Well I have been knitting my cardigan! I finished knitting now, I only need to the neck part and put it all together! I was thinking about using my sewing machine to do that, any suggestions? I've never tried that before. So we'll see.

There is something I wanted to share with you guys, Sunday afternoon I felt like drinking soup, so I opened my fridge and I pulled all the vegetables that I could find.
This is what it came out with; I mixed butter squash, sweet potato, zucchini, and beats, chicken broth, some soup noodles and maizena! After they boiled and cooked I took it all the veggies put them on the blender and made them pure.
Wauu what a bloody soup! Perfect for Halloween week! It was red!!! Like blood! hahaha but delicious!
Because of its color and texture I decided to call it the Halloween bloody soup!

Weekend and Pictures of the Girly Redskins hat!

Remember that last time I told you that I was going to the Redskins Game? Well here are the pictures! Well I have to tell you that my hubby and I decided to take the hat I made to the game, so we could take pictures at the stadium! And so we did. We had a blast! I have a really nice picture of my hubby and me but since it’s in his camera some day he is going to download it and I'll posted.
Today I select the best pictures for the hat and send them to the Knitting Calendar!
Oh one thing!!!! Can you see the guy wearing a custom kinda next to me? He is like a legend at the stadium! He is always there, it's like a "must see" if you go to one of the Redskins games.

Well last Saturday; I had my first Jewelry show! It went very well, I had sales and I was happy. I wish more friends would have come, but they had things to do and they couldn't make it. My Hubby came to the show and he was so proud of me, it felt good! I was proud of myself too! At nighttime we went to my best friend's house because it was his B-day, and he was celebrating, we had drinks, played cards, talked, laughed and planned, we got to see all our friends at the party. We had a great time! We went to bed at 2:30am!!!!!

Sunday, mmmmm it was so relaxing! I slept in until 10:30AM!! And then just chilled, watching the games and hanging out with hubby, drinking mate and knitting!

It was a great weekend!

Happy and easy

The weekend was very nice, I got to go to the Redskins game and, even though I'm not a fan, I enjoyed the game. My husband and I had a great time, spending time together make us always happy. After the game we went to eat a hamburger at my favorite place Johnny Rockets! mmm soo good, but very evil food!
Yesterday, it was mother's day in Argentina, so I called my mom and wished her all the best and send her a nice big fat present and she loved it! I think that nothing in the entire world is enough to express all we feel for our mothers, and I told her that too. I wished I were there with her to give her a bear hug!
Saturday, mmm In the morning I went to delivered the hats with my husband, then he had to go to work, so I decided to go to my friend Cheli's house to drink so mate and to chat. Because Cheli is my mother's in law friend as well we went together. We had a great time! I thought Cheli how to crochet a flower, and she loved it!

I will put some pictures later on.

Health:
Drinking Organic green tea, eating a kiwi a day, and trying to eat as healthy as possible. Water levels are really good, drinking about 7 to 8 glasses a day.

I was a really busy day yesterday. A soon as I got home I sat down at the kitchen with my mother in law, (hubby was working) sipped some MATE (yummy. Typical drink from my country) and started crocheting flowers like crazy! We needed 40 and we accomplished 36. We were so tired! It took us from 6:00 pm to 9pm to finish them all. All those flowers were for the hats that I have to deliver on Saturday morning to the shoe store called Shoe Fly. Today, I have to attach the flower to the pins and to the hats, but that’s easy!

Well, let’s talk about something more fun, like Plans for the weekend!
Saturday, having friends over, they are probably sleepping over because on Sunday we have free tickets to go see the Redskins! I know none of us is a Redskins fan either but hey we have FREE tickets for a game!! So we are going, it’s going to be a lot of fun!

Well have a great weekend; I’m off to start enjoying my free time!

A year later

After a very long time without touching my blog, I decided that it was time to come back.
I have been really busy, knitting, making jewelry and taking care of just daily life.
I have a fat order of hat to deliver on Saturday a total of 54 hats total for a shoe store that love my hats and the owner likes to sell them there. I love to see my hats on those shelves; I can’t believe that people that I don’t know love them! I feel really good.

New hobby

A while ago I started feeling itchy about making jewelry, I couldn’t decide if I really wanted to add another hobby to my life or not and I finally one day I went to the store I got the tools and I started making jewelry. I like the feeling of making my own jewelry, like if I am going to wear something and I don’t have jewelry to go with, well I just make some! Ha. Well One day I went to my husband’s restaurant and the owner there felt in love with some of my creations, and she proposed me to make a jewelry show at her restaurant! I was so thrilled! I couldn’t believe it! So this show is going to happen at City Square Café on October 24th, 2009. Will see how it goes!

Knitting
Well, I have on my needles a beautiful baby blue cardigan, I already finished the front and the back and now I’m knitting the sleeves (together) and they are taking forever!!!!!
Hopefully with some luck I can finish some time next week. I would love to use it for the jewelry show.
The other day I did something really exciting; I submitted a knitting pattern to the Knitting Calendar! And they accepted it, so one of my patterns is going to be on the 2011 calendar!
I promised not to disappear again; I will be around this time.

Remembering and Knitting

Today is a very special date, another anniversary for September 11th, all my love and prayers for the victims.

I have to say that I love knitting everyday a little more, now is turning an addiction, which I don't have many so it's OK. The only addiction that I had was smoking and chocolates, well I quit smoking a month ago, so now I'm just addictive to chocolate and knitting! They are healthy addiction, right??
Well, so yesterday I started to knit the February lady Sweater, by flinknits. Since the first day that I saw it I couldn't resist, and here I am, knitting it!
So far is coming great , the yarn that I pick to knit it is Debbie Bliss Silky alpaca, is really soft and light. I'm using Addi turbo circular needles for the first time, and I'm loving them.
I will post pictures of the progress later.

I also started last week a bulky vest. It's looking really nice, I love how the yarn combines together. I'm using yarn from Lion Brand called Landscapes, is really soft, and it can be felt but I won't do that.

I'm really pleased with the colors!

Hi there this days are being difficult, I have been super busy trying to keep up with everything in my life! Where do I find peace? When I create! because my mind floats and is free imagination time!

After a long time I'm back!

Well, after a long disappearing time I’m back again.
I’ve been lost, I know and I hope it doesn’t happen again. I have been knitting quite a lot, but in whole new way. I’m into miniatures now. Yess! I love it! The thing was that like a few months ago I got my first doll, a Blythe doll. I didn’t buy it; I got as part of a payment for a custom job for a client. Well since I like challenges I decided to enter to this new world. At first I glad no a clue about knitting miniatures, I had to learn about sizes, needles, what tape of yarn and all that. Then I decided to go online to find some patterns, well let me tell you that for knitting patterns t\you can hardly can find anything for that specific doll. So I had to invented and played with my yarn and needles until I found what I was looking for. And now I understand why nobody wants to share the patterns, and I have to say I’m not sharing either, at least for now.
Well this is what I’ve knitted so far:

I also made a little origami box for it! So cute!

This is a little raglan top I started from the neck so no seems are left to sew!! besides it fit her perfectly.

I loved making this pair of slippers I made a tiny origami box for them to have.

Here they are next to a coin so you can actually see how tiny they are!

So because of all these creations I decided to open a little Etsy store called Tiny world where I sell only doll clothes and furniture, I didn’t want to mix it with my original store “Sabrina Creations”, which I have to say it I have to pick up because I don’t have a lot of new items. I do still sewing for some clients outside Etsy though, for example I sold 3 purses last Saturday I was so happy!

Whenever she(Luna my Blythe doll)finishes washing her clothes she uses these pins to hang the clothes outside!

In reference to my personal life my hubby and I are doing fine, we are still trying for a baby, hopefully some day it will come. In reference to trying to conceive I was getting obsessed with it, so I stop myself and I now I try not to think about it, so I keep my mind busy with other activities like creating. Knitting is like a therapy for me. So will see what happens.
I have to be honest with you, I really missed not posting on this blog; I’m glad that I’m back.

I had a great weekend! I got the chance to used my gift certificate for Tranquality Spa ( hubby got this for Christmas)!! It was so so nice!! I had a really nice and relaxing time. I needed it.
I also worked on two hats that my sister's friend order for hertwo girls. One had to be purple and the other one had to be baby blue.
I finally finished them on Sunday, and give her to my friend that same day. We all gat together in my friend Cici's house for super ball, had a great time.

I just love to knit, but I discovered that I don't like to knit under preassure.

I made this cute cardigan or sweater for Baby Angelina, she my friend’s baby. She is not in this world yet, but she is coming this March.

I love to make this tiny sweater it was a lot of fun. When I finished it I thought it was missing something, it was so lonely, so I made a tiny pink hat, which looks adorable.

What a nice weekend I just had! I did everything that I wanted to do. I think I love Saturdays and I don’t like at all Sundays, if you ask me way I would say because I don’t like football! Hehehe. But it’s not only for that it’s just that Sunday’s are boring. I have to admit that since I started creating and knitting things, it’s gotten a lot better. This weekend we had people over and I made some pizzas they were delicious! I was so proud of myself; it’s nice the feeling when you cook and everybody likes it! Sunday I went to my husband job for brunch and ate way too much, but it was so good! Then after that we went to my friends’ house and drink some mate (Argentina’s national drink) with cake.
When I got home after that I felt in a great mood to create and it was there when I made some lovely Valentine's Day gifts for my shop!

I also was inspired enough to make a nice hand knit Hat, super warm it covers your ears perfectly. I made this hat with Argentinian yarn, half wood half acrylic. It's very soft. The flower brooch on the hat is totally removable, so you can use it in the perfect occasion.

I would like to present you my latest creation on Amigurumis,
her name is Violet, she is a mischievous little rabbit who loves Spring time. Vilolet goes crazy when she sees a butterfly, she likes to play with them and just be happy.
Violet was handmade by me, I crocheted her body and long ears, and I made her face with fleece. If you are interested on her please visit my Etsy shop. I would like her to be adopted by somebody who would care about her.She will only bring joy on your life.
I do not recommend her for little kids because of her nose and eyes.

I hope that everybody has started the New Year with lots of happiness!!
I had a great new years’ Eve. We went to my best friend party, She and her husband made a fun 80’ party! It was great, we had bunch of fun. My husband had to dress me because I had no clue about the 80’ fashion; well I’ve born in 1979 so I was pretty young in the 80’. My hubby lovess the 80’ he knows everything about it! Incredible.

Well as I might have said before I made lot of cute little presents for my girlfriends. I love to make stuff for other people. One of my friends was so exited about the gift I was thrilled.
I made a purple hat for Rona, with a nice flower as a pin, I also made a hat and scarf for Amy and a cream hat for Alexis, and finally for my best friend I made a Tote bag for her books (she is a teacher).
I was so happy they loved them!! It’s so nice to see the reaction on people’s faces when they open a gift that you have made. When I saw Rona’s expression on her face I was speechless, she said “ Oh my gosh, yess! And it’s purple!! And she had this big smile on her face!So far I only have like 2 pictures od the gifts, I'm going to publish the other ones later. The pictures don't look good because the lack of light, they were taken like 3:00am at the party, so I can't expect much. I wish I would have taken the picuters before wrapping them. They look so much better in person believe me.

I have to say that the most difficult present that I have ever made was my hubby’s scarf and hat(pictures are coming soon), well the hat wasn’t difficult, but the scarf oh boy! I finished it ON January 5th just on time for Los Reyes magos; it’s a holiday that we celebrate in my hometown. You are suppose to live your shoes and a boll with water and some grass for the camels under the Christmas tree and next morning the water and grass will be gone and on your shoes you are going to find a nice present something that you wanted. Well my hubby loved his gift. I was so so happy that all my effort and time were appreciated by a big smile on his face and huge hug! I love my hubby with my whole heart!
I have some picture to show but I’m shy, hehehe, so I still thinking about publish them or not? Well what that h… I will do it.

And finally I would like to say that I love my life and I really happy to share it!

TIPS TO START NEW YEAR WITH POSITIVE ENERGY.

I always thought that starting a new year with positive spirit and energy brings lot of good augury. There are some people that received new years on bed or they don’t even wait for it. I am the kind of person that really needs to be ready and happy to receive a new year. So I have decided to share with you some tips that are fun to do and they make me feel happy.
Tips for receiving New Year 2008
# As soon as you wake up on the 31st tried to clean your aura (I know that a lot of people don’t believe in it, but I do) do it with love, thinking that you are taking away of your body all the negative energy, if you are ill think about your illness and while you clean your aura try to think that you are taking away the illness away from your body. Just focus on living good feelings and positive energy. Your mind state should be strong positive and in peace.
# Think about yourself for a minute, no matter how you look, love yourself. The idea is to feel strong from the inside out, so in that way all left is positive thoughts and positive energy.
#Clean out your house, make it smell good.
#Sweep or vacuum from the inside out, always finishing on the door, like sweeping everything out.
#Take out all the clutter. Clutter is not good for your home, especially in your bedroom. It keeps all the bad energy and it doesn’t let you move on. (That’s what I think).
Change your sheets, so you can actually received New Year on a clean full of positive energy bed!
#Make your bed.
#When you finish all that, your house it’s going to feel lighter and more welcoming, now what you are really feeling is taking care of yourself, so
#Take a nice shower, feel the water coming down, massage your leg, scrub your back and feet. Clean your body starting up like with your head and then going all the way down to your feet, think that the water is taking away from you all that negative energy. Take a deep breath and let go all the negative thoughts, all the things that bother you or those problems that worry you the most, just let go and relax. This is your time.
#Look in the mirror and tell yourself that this New Year everything is going to be ok, and give yourself a big smile.
#Be proud of what you are.
#Get pretty
#Wear something new (it doesn’t matter what it is)
#You are full of positive energy now; good energy is sparkling from your fingers now.
#New year’s Eve: pick a cup o a glass that is not really expensive to make the toast at 12AM. When you are doing that think joyfully and enjoy all the family and friends around you, if your family is in another country just think of them, and your heart would be really happy.
#When you finished try to go outside always taking your glass or cup (the one that you’ve used to toast), with nobody following you, take a deep breath think of three wishes (important ones) take a sip and trough the cup away with all your strength. Feel great about it. Go inside and enjoy the party!

I do these because I believe in it. I believe that good energy is contagious, I think that we have to laugh a lot because is good for your soul, laugh about yourself. Laughing 20 minutes a day make your life longer!!

Merry Christmas everybody!!! better late than never right? I hope you had a wonderful Christmas day!
I know that I've disappeared for quite a long time, I have not excuses. My Christmas was wonderful; we had a really good time. My husband made me lots of nice presents; he really knew what I wanted.
I got a memory foam pillow (I’ve wanted this pillow forever,
I have to say that is so good and comfortable, if you have neck or back problem this pillow make all the pain go away, unless in my case. He also got for me a gift certificate for Tranquility Spa! (MMMM I can wait to go! a pizza roller for cutting the pizza (see I make pizza almost every weekend, he loves my pizza, and when the cutting time comes I used to say that I needed one, so here it is!)
My hubby really surprised me when I opened one of the last presents and it was a gift certificate for Old Town Manassas Needle Crafts Shop, saying that I can buy all the yarn that I wanted!!! He is a sweetheart, my sweetheart. It was so funny because he said " My intention was to pick and buy some yarn for you, but when I saw all the different kinds I didn't know what to choose!" he is so so sweet, just the fact that he went over there and thought of me and tried to pick some yarn for me that is just to sweet. Don't you think? I like the fact that he really knows what I'm into, what I like to do. And you should see the cute card that he got for me! It's so funny and cute at the same time.
I'm just 100% happy at his side.

I also want to say that yesterday I finally finished my green vest!!! Yay!! I'm so proud of it; it came out just the way that I wanted. I'm going to take some pictures soon.

Since my friends my husband and me are exchanging Christmas presents on New Year's Eve I am finishing up lots of presents that I made for my friends. I made hats, scarfs, one big tote bag, and little sachet bags to put the presents in. I hope they like it.

Well I think I'm going to let myself go back to work.

What a weekend!! Nice of course but busy! Friday was relaxing but my hubby was working until like 11:00pm, so I’m bored when he is not around, I miss him so much, so I I just relaxed until he got home and I cooked some dinner for him. I love my hubby with all my heart and beyond that. Yes I really do.

Saturday I did the house chores and then I knitted a little bit because my friend Ceci came to pick me up to go girls night out! Yay! We had lots of fun, nothing fancy you know. We went shopping, and then to have some dinner and drinks, but we had a great time, we talked a lot. Hubby worked, he came home at 10:30pm. (I really missed him).

Sunday, well I think is the first time in years that I loved a Sunday as much as I loved this past one. (I usually hate Sundays, they’re really depressing for me, unless they are rainy Sunday, and then I love them. I know it’s weird).
Well the thing about this Sunday was that it was a really productive one!!

I finished lots of Blythe doll projects, I’m so proud of them. I think they look adorable. I had the time to list everything on my etsy shop and on flickr! I also had to work on a custom order and I’m super happy with those results too.

I love to create, I’m so so happy doing it!
I also had the chance to spent time with my hubby who finally was able to live work earlier so he was home at 4:30pm this time. We watched football together, eat, talked and just hugged. I love hugs, I can’t go one day without one, he is not a big fan of hugs, but since he knows that I need them to live he gives me some, hehehe.
Well I finally took some decent pictures of my creations this time. I hope some people like them so the new items can find a new home soon.

Que fin de semana!! Lindo por supuesto pero bien ocupado! El Viernes fué tranquilo porque mi amor trabajo hasta las 11.00pm, así que no hice mucho, relajarme nomás hasta que el llego y le cocine la cena.

El Sábado limpié la casa y después tejí un poquito, hasta que mi amiga Ceci me vino a buscar para que pasemos la un rato juntas. Nos re divertimos! No hicimos nada sofisticado viste, solo fuimos de shopping, a cenar y aprovechamos a tomar unos tragos bien ricos.
Mi amor trabajo hasta las 10:30pm (la verdad es que lo extrañe mucho).

El Domingo… creo yo que es la primera vez en años que me encantó tanto un Domingo como este que paso. (Casi siempre odio los domingos me resultan deprimentes, a no ser que este lloviendo, entonces ahí me encantan. Raro no?).

Bueno la cosa acerca de este Domingo fué que fue un día muy productivo!! Terminé un montón de proyectos para las muñes Blythe, estoy super orgullosa. Pienso que quedaron preciosos, y no es que sea modesta es que es lo que siento. Tuve tiempo para ponerlos en mi negocio etsy y también en mi página de flickr! También tuve que trabajar en una orden personalizada que me pidió una clienta y la verdad estoy muy contenta con los resultados.
Amo crear, soy feliz cuando lo hago!

También tuve la oportunidad de pasar tiempo con mi amorcito, quien finalmente llegó a casita a las 4:30pm de la tarde esta vez. Así que juntos miramos un poco de futbol americano , comimos, charlamos y nos abrazamos. A mi me encantan los abrazos, no puedo vivir ni un día sin tener uno, el amorcito mío.. . bueno el no es muy fanático de los abrazos, pero como sábe que yo los necesito para vivir a veces me regala algunos! Jajaja.

Yesterday it was a really busy day for me at work, it was all me; by the time I got home I was exhausted. Since my husband was working last night I had time to watch my shows, yay I had the power in the remote control!! So I went upstairs I change into comfy clothes, I grab my needles and I put on one of my shows!Ralaxing time...“Sigh”......
I'm really into TELL ME YOU LOVE ME (I love that show is so real and romantic at the same time) it’s an HBO show. I highly recommend it! See I have to take advantage of the TV when my hubby is not home, because when he is home he is the owner of the TV, he won’t let the remote go!!! Amazing!

So, while watching my shows I was knitting, of course. I was working on more Blythe hats. It’s like all the sudden my head is full of ideas again! You’ll see.
I was also working on the neck of my green vest, I have to finish it soon because winter is here.
I have some pictures to post I’m so excited about it. I knit a little bit every night.

Ayer estuve ocupadisima en mi trabajo, Para el tiempo que llegue a mi casa ya estaba agotada. Mi esposo estuvo trabajando anoche, así que aproveche y me puse al día con todos los programas que yo miro, Siiii por fin tuve el poder de usar el control remoto de la tele!!
Así que llegue a casa le dí una galletita a cada una de mis perris, subí a mi cuarto y salte adentro de ropa bien cómoda. Por supuesto de ahí agarré mis agujitas, me apoderé del sofá y a tejer y mirar mis programas!!! Relajación… “ suspiro”….
Me re- enganche con un show que se llama “Tell me you love me” (me encanta porque es realista y romántico al mismo tiempo) es una serie de HBO. La verdad que lo recomiendo. Mira tengo que tomar ventaja de la tele cuando mi esposo no esta, porque cuando el esta, dios mio, es el dueño de la tele y del control, no deja ninguna de las dos cosas ni por un minuto! Increible!!

Así que mientras estaba mirando tele por supuesto estaba tejiendo, estuve trabajando en más gorritos para las muñes Blythe. Es como que de golpe se me lleno la cabezita de ideas super lindas otra vez! Ya vas a ver.
También estuve tejiendo un poquito el cuello del chalequito verde, si porque lo tengo que terminar rapidito ya que el invierno se esta haciendo presente por estos lados.
Tengo algunas fotitos para subir, la verdad que estoy muy contenta con el patrón del chaleco, no es el de la revista eh! Use un punto que acá se llama punto triangulo y me encanta como queda. Solo estoy copiando el cuello de esta revista, aunque creo que todo el chaleco esta precioso.

Changing the subject yesterday my hubby two more friends couples and me went to have some dinner to a Greek restaurant; we had a lot of fun! Good food, good company, good friends and my hubby. I didn’t eat much, but I tried a little bit of everything and that was great.

In reference to my husband’s alfajores I did not have any luck, the guy told me that he was going to have them, but he doesn’t have them yet. He said maybe in a couple of weeks.
Besides my husband yesterday discovered it by reading my blog, that I was trying to get them, so called me and said to me “ baby don’t worry about it, you don’t have to buy them, it’s ok”. So we’ll see if I can find them anyway.

Yesterday I became a member of the NaBloPomo. You are supposed to blog everyday on the month of November, see I missed 4 day because I discovered it yesterday, I hope it’s OK, and if it’s not Ok, I will do it anyways.

Bueno hoy si que me siento mejor!! Finalmente vendí algo en mi negocio! Tan pronto como lo puse para vender lo vendí, habra durado 5 minutos si eso y ya no estaba más.
Ayer tome las fotos de los lindo projectitos que ya tenia listos para mi negocito.

Este es un gorrito de Navidad, me encanta le puse un arbolito de navidad en el medio de la florcita!

Cambiado de tema ayer mi esposo dos parejas amigas y yo fuimos a cenar a un restaurante Griego; la pasamos re bien! Buena comida, buena compania, buenos amigos, y el maridito al lado mío! La verdad que no comí mucho pero eso si probe un poquito de cada cosa, me encanta hacer eso.

En referencia a los alfajores de mi Esposito querido, no tuve nada de suerte. El señor me dijo que los iba a tener a la nochesita y me mintío no los tenía nada. Dijo que por ahí los traía en un par de semanas. Aparte mi esposo estuvo chusmenado mi blog ayer y descubrió todo, así que me llamó y me dijo que no me haga problema que no me gaste la platita y que no le compre nada. Yo pienso que si el señor los trae igual los voy a comprar porque ahora la que se quedo con las ganas de comerlos soy yo.

Ayer me hice miembro de NaBloPomo. Uno está supuesto a escribir una entrada en el blog todos los días de Noviembre, lo malo es que yo me perdí los primeros 4 dias porque recien la descubrí ayer. Espero que no importe, y bueno sino no me importa igual es algo que quiero hacer.

I’m here! I know I’m a really bad blogger. I think that it’s because sometimes I’m so busy that I don’t have time to do it.
I have been working on a lot of things lately, (blythe clothes!!) I know you might think less talking more pictures, right? Well the thing is that it’s getting really hard for me to take pictures, because now by the time that I get home is already dark. I’m not good a talking picture inside. Yesterday I asked my husband if he would help me to make a light box, and he said, “we’ll see”. I know that he knows a lot about photography, but he doesn’t disclose to me any information about it. I wish I knew as much as he knows.
Today I decided to bring my camera with me (at work) so I can take some nice sunny pictures of some finished projects that I want to list on my shop.

Last Saturday was my dad’s Birthday!! Happy Birthday Dad!! He is 52 now!
I couldn’t go to Argentina to spend his birthday with him, but my heart and my thought were with him all day long. I called him to Argentina like 4 times on Saturday. I love him he is the best dad in the whole world!!!
Yesterday we went to El Patio an Argentinean restaurant to celebrate my in-laws 42nd anniversary we had a great time. The only bad thing is that I forget to buy Alfajores for my husband (it’s his favorite cookie). He asked me for them yesterday in the way there and because I didn’t see them at the store I completely forget about them. Hubby is upset with me, I’m sad about it. I’m going to try to find those Alfajores not matter what and give them to him. He does so much for me I feel guilty now. Oh well hopefully I will find some and he is going to be happy again. I just called to one of the Spanish markets and the guy told me that he is going to bring some Alfajores this afternoon!! Yay!! Hubby is going to be super happy if that happens!!

Acá estoy!! Ya sé soy una muy mala blogger. Pienso que es porque a veces estoy ocupada haciendo algo y lo pospongo vieron.
Estuve trabajando en bastantes cositas ultimamente (ropita para las muñes!) Se que deben estar pensando más fotitos y menos escritura! No? Bueno la cosa es que se me está haciendo bien difícil sacar buenas fotos, porque para el tiempo que llego a mi casa ya esta oscuro. La verdad es que no soy buena para sacar fotos adentro, simpre me salen oscuras sin vida y la verdad no me gustan así. Ayer le pregunte a Ale (mi esposo) si el me podria ayudar a armar una caja de luz para sacar fotos, y me contesto, “vamos a ver”. Yo sé que el sabe muchisimo de fotografía, porque tomo clases y porque trabaja con fotos todo el tiempo, pero no quiere decirme ningún secreto acerca de eso. Desearía saber todo lo que el sábe. Hoy decidí traer la camara de fotos al trabajo así en mi hora de almuerzo aprovecho y le saco unas fotitos a algunos de los diseños que tengo listos para poner en mi negocio.

Este Sábado que paso fue el cumpleaños de mi papá, cumplio 52 añitos!!
Feliz Cumple Papi!! No he podido ir a Argentina a pasar el cumple con el este año pero mi corazón y mis pensamientos estuvieron todo el día con el. Lo llamé a Argentina como 4 veces el Sábado. Lo amo a mi papa, el es el mejor papa de todo el mundo!!!
Ayer fuimos a celebrar el aniversario número 42 de casado de mis suegros a un restaurant Argentino que se llama el Patio. Bien argentino el lugar. Encontre hasta manteca

La pasamos re bien! Lo único que me arruino un poco la noche fue que me olvide de comprarle los alfajores a mi esposo (los Havanna son sus alfajores favoritos). El me los había pedido cuando ibamos rumbo para allá, y como no los vi en el negocio ni me acorde.
